ICC Retail Franchise Store Launches

The ICC Group (Independent Cash & Carry Group) held a successful launch of their first new look retail franchise store on the 23rd February in Mabeskraal, just north of Rustenberg. This ICC Lifestyle Supermarket store is the first store to launch as part of ICC's Lifestyle Brand, with the second launching on the 1st March 2013 near Delmas.

The chief of the Mabeskraal Community attended the newly revamped store opening festivities and together with store owner Daniel Makgotlwe and ICC's CEO Gert Scheepers, the store was officially launched to the community. Many interested and excited shoppers attended the opening and good trading figures were reported for the first day.

Daniel Makgotlwe and his wife Rebecca own the store and were previously trading as Letsema General Dealers for the past 10 years. Although the land is still under the traditional tribal allocation, the building is owned by Makgotlwe and serves the village made up of 300 000 residents within a 10km radius. With ICC's new partnership under the franchise agreement, the store has undergone a significant transformation with a fresh, clean and professional new look. The changes included outside and inside signage, sturdier and higher shelving, fully stocked shelves, a standard uniform for all staff as well as better processes, procedures and pricing.

Makgotlwe commented: "We are extremely pleased with the assistance that ICC has given us to turn this store into so much more than a store! Our new layout, modern signage and well stocked shelves can now meet the requirements of our patrons and we are thankful to ICC for all they have done to help us."

Over and above the residents, Makgotlwe suppliers the local schools feeding schemes and is also now able to target the smaller spaza and tuck shop traders in the area.
