Vegiking Lifestyle Supermarket Opening

Vegiking Lifestyle Supermarket officially opened its doors to the public during a moving ceremony on the 30th June in Secunda. Business partners, family members, staff and suppliers were present on the day to hear the owners address the audience and receive blessings from the local priest.

Joint owners of the business Andre Botha and Madalena Faulha were extremely happy and emotional during the opening speeches. Botha, a former Engineer, heartily thanked the many people who were instrumental in making their dream a reality, including the Lifestyle Franchise owned by ICC Buying Group.

"We are now a family....... The Lifestyle Secunda 22 family! This "WE" is every employee, the owners and their families, the ICC group and their team and service contractors. We need to care for one another, for our business and above all, our customers. Let's do it! The Lifestyle way." commented Botha during his motivational speech.

Madalena Faulha, who heils from a family of grocers, was truly ecstatic with the new look of the store and excited to see the shoppers arriving and paying compliments to the team. Faulha is the current owner of the well known Vegiking Fruit and Veg which has been successfully doing business from the extention 22 Lifestyle Centre since 2001.

ICC's Gert Scheepers also welcomed and thanked all that were present. Scheepers was extremely upbeat about the success of this store due to the hard work, focus and dedication already displayed by the owners during build up. The store, previously a Foodzone, had a complete renovation, including new raised ceilings, extensive lighting, new tiles, modern shelving with a wood finish, large print branding, latest technology and proper merchandising with extensively stocked shelves.

Manny Gouveia, Lifestyle Franchise Manager was proud to showcase the first Lifestyle Supermarket that is aimed to service the higher LSM's. "My dream has also been realised today as we have elevated the offering to a level that can compete with any well known supermarket brand, at a fraction of the start up and monthly costs! commented Gouveia. Our prices are also extremely competitive and we feel that we have service areas - our fruit and vegetable section, bakery and deli can compete confidently worldwide!"

Botha also stressed the important of customer service to differentiate themselves and ended his address with these words: "We are launching a new idea – The Lifestyle Supermarket with which we want to capture a new audience and clientele. If we want to impact on our customers we have to impact on their lifestyle, we need to impact on their shopping experience, we need to impact on customer service!"
